About the Baker

Welcome to my blog!

They call me Jessica the Baker. I’m a Christian young girl who loves to bake for my family, my relatives, and whenever we have company.

My earliest memories in the kitchen are sitting on my grandma’s counter top with my sisters and  watching in fascination as she would make her special marble cake (still a family secret recipe). We’d be mesmerized by the mixer as it went round and round, and by the swirly pattern of the marble cake when it was put into the baking pan. Our favorite part of course was licking the bowl! As any good grandmother she’d leave some extra batter on the bowls and spoons for us to lick. :)

I also remember watching my aunt make her special European Donuts. Not to mention the countless times I would help my mom create mouth-watering foods (my mom is the best cook!). Growing up, my oldest sister started baking more and she became the baker of the family. As she got busier with school, I took over the baking. As I started experimenting with new recipes I discovered the beauty and art of baking. Trying a new recipe, and seeing it turn out delicious brought me joy that made me want continue doing more and more!

I started following a lot of cooking blogs and soaked up any tips and tricks about baking. In 2011 I decided to start a baking blog of my own. My dream is to one day have a bakery of my own. Hence the name “Bitty Bite Bakery”.  Although I may never open a real bakery, this is my little bakery on the web. Here I’ll share with you my recipes and other recipes that I tried and loved.  I like trying new recipes and I love repeating the “old” ones.

Most of the pictures on my blog are taken by Abby, my talented photographer who happens to be my sister. :)

I hope you’ll enjoy yourself as you roam around. Feel free to leave a comment,  I enjoy hearing if you’ve tried any of my recipes!
